Construction
Selecting a Site
To select a site to build a new house you must first obtain blueprints of the building you wish to build; simply take the blueprint to a blank piece of land, and drop the blueprint on the ground, not to fear you are the only person who can pickup the blueprint. A translucent model of the structure will appear, you will be able to walk through the model until you add resources.
Gathering Resources
Gathering resources for construction is fairly simple, first to make the buildings phasic attribute disappear drop one of the needed materials on the blueprint. After you have inserted the first material the building will become a solid translucent structure without any doors. As you add resources, by dropping them inside the building the translucency will fade, continue to add resources until you have everything needed for the buildings construction.
Finalizing the Building
When the last piece is dropped, a small menu will pop up that will allow you to name the building and choose between residential and commercial building types, after clicking ok all that is left to do is to furnish the building or fill it with the tools or items needed. Schools, Farms, Stables, and Shops will automatically become commercial buildings and will not offer you a choice.
Management
Privileges
As a landowner, or even a renter you will be able to set privileges on all key items inside your structure. This will allow you to set who can rent, buy, sell or use your property. As a town owner you may set privileges as to who can enter your town safely, and what they can do in your town. These settings can be defined for individuals, families, and everyone collectively.
Usage Fees
Housing, Schools, Stores, Farming Fields, Stables, Workbenches, Tools, almost anything can be rented out, any items placed inside a commercial structure will be made available for rent, all you have to do is set a rental price for the items. Rental of Items, any crafting areas, schools, and stores fees are charged on a per hour basis, while Houses Farms, Stables, and all other structures and objects such as steeds fees are charged on a per day basis.
Sale
In towns everything not bolted down can be sold, and most of the things that are bolted down too. Houses, and other structures will present you with a menu for setting a price to sell your building for. As for items you may setup a shop which will present players with an automated menu for purchasing goods from you. Direct player to player trades of goods are also classified as sales when you are within the confines of a town wall.
Taxation
As a Lord of a town you have the ability to tax your patrons, from taxes for specific sales, taxes for performing specific skills, to silly taxes for breathing or walking, set on timers for the duration that the citizens are in your town. Taxes are automatically deposited into your towns treasury whenever any of these conditions are met.
Law
Instituting Laws
Laws can only be instituted by Lords of Towns and Provinces, Lords of families, as well as the Emperor. The Emperors laws apply to all in Japan and can only be changed by approaching the Emperor with a suitable proposal, beware your head is on the line. A Player who has two or more towns in their possession is considered a Lord of a Province unless their towns were erected in another players Province. The boundary of a province spans from the farthest side of one town to the farthest side of the town furthest away. The provincial lines will extend out to any towns you have outside of those lines and a Lord may set laws for any actions that take place in their province anywhere from making Animal Husbandry a compulsory skill to a kill on sight order for anyone caught stealing. Lords of Towns may set most of the same laws as a Lord of a Province as long as it does not conflict with superior laws. Any laws set by a Lord will take effect in a town owned by the Lord allowing you to set different laws in every town you own, or change all your towns laws at once.
Enforcing Laws
If you want to enforce laws you have to hire Guards, Ninja or Samurai to protect your town. When you hire a new guard their name will be added to a management list where you will be able to set their pay and special privileges. When a law is broken anyone on your guard list currently situated in your town will be notified with a blinking colored light indicating the area the crime took place and the severity of the crime, and will follow the thief as long as he/she remains within your line of sight from the first time you spot them.
Breaking Laws
When you break laws be prepared to pay for them, if you are caught by a guard, depending on the law you break, and the mood of the guard you may be given certain options. You may choose to bribe the guard, in which case it will seem as though the crime never took place. You can give yourself up by kneeling in which case your case will be brought to the attention of the Lord and your punishment carried out, as well as a permanent record of your crimes taken down. In some cases you will simply be killed on sight, there is no rest for the wicked.
