Introduction

Rather than going with the bland name of "Guild", we decided to dub our guild system a 'family system'. Not only does it sound more fitting to the game, but it allows us to add more advanced aspects to it and encourage more realistic player interaction.

General

The family system in T:LaW, is quite simple: three ‘main’ starting families, which are spread throughout the game world; inside these three are branch families which contain the cities (Non-main, starter cities); these cities are branched off of one of the main families - so it must contain at least one portion (Kana) of the previous family it split off from. For example: The main family my town is apart of is Jinro, my starter town’s family name is Waro; it contains a portion of “Jinro” since it contains “ro” (A Japanese Kana).

Starting a family

To start a family, you must follow a few simple rules:

  • Your name is limited to Japanese Kana: “a, i, u, e, o ka, ki, ku, ke, ko sa, shi, su, se, so ta, chi, tsu, te, to na, ni, nu, ne, no ha, hi, fu, he, ho ma, mi, mu, me, mo ya, yu, yo ra, ri, ru, re, ro wa, o, n”.
  • You must contain at least one kana from the family you split off from; this will allow easy tracking of certain family structures.

If you follow these simple rules, once you meet a requirement (Undecided, what it will be), you will be allowed to create a family (Undecided, how this will work). You will pick a name following the rules above, and submit it to us: We will return the Hiragana (Japanese “symbols” used to represent sounds) symbols, as well as an approval notice.
From this point on, you will be allowed to brand your weapons, armor, cloth, etc. with your family name (In hiragana or ‘western’ style (Romaji)). You will also be allowed to invite others into your family, create a dojo, city, building, etc. for your family, and so on.
